True HDR for iPhone
HDR or High Dynamic Range has been around for a while now. HDR is a set of techniques, in software, that allow a greater dynamic range of luminances between the lightest and darkest areas of an image than standard digital imaging techniques or photographic methods. This is done by software that automatically combines differently exposed versions of the same scene.
This wider dynamic range allows HDR images to represent more accurately the wide range of intensity levels found in real scenes ranging from direct sunlight to faint starlight.
Previously this kind of functionality has only been available to photographers in PC software such as Photoshop or Photomatix, until now that is in for guise of new iPhone app TrueHDR. Now you can use your iPhone 3GS to accurately capture realistic-looking pictures that have exposure and colour depth much closer to what your eyes originally saw.
Go to iTunes now and try it for yourself - we are totally in awe of this little app.
